Abstract
The placement of distributed generation (DG) has a significant impact on system operation and power supply to customers. This paper investigates the effects of customer demands on the DG planning. An optimization model based on dependent chance programming is firstly proposed. Two indices, voltage profile and reliability performance of customers, are defined as the objectives. Subsequently, scenarios defined according to the historical meteorological data are developed to simulate the uncertainty involved in DG output. A stochastic simulation based on defined scenarios is used to evaluate the satisfaction of customer expectation. Finally, simulations on a test system illustrate the dependence of the satisfaction on factors related to DG, such as location, type and scale.
