Abstract
Mathematical analysis, supported by computer simulations is used to find theoretically the maximum number of co-channel interfering tiers that becomes active at microwave carrier frequencies greater than 2 GHz and Millimeter Wave (mmWave). Information capacity measure based on the uplink of the cellular wireless system is used for the analysis. Results show that at microwave carrier frequencies greater than 2GHz, the first 10 co-channel interfering tiers becomes active. Whereas for mmWave carrier frequencies more than 10 co-channel interfering tiers becomes active. Our results show that the number of active co-channel interfering tiers depends on the carrier frequency and the cell size radius.
