  • Abstract
This paper considers the network energy efficiency in multi-cell OFDMA downlink systems. We propose a resource allocation scheme with limited coordination to optimize the network energy efficiency and satisfy user requirement. The proposed scheme has two steps; centralized and distributed. In the first step a central unit allocates the resources for cell- edge users at first place giving them high priority, the resource allocation problem is formulated as a linear integer programming to give the benchmark of the proposed scheme performance, then each base station allocates the remaining resources where the resource allocation problem is formulated as a margin adaptive linear programming to minimize the interference. Our simulation results shows that, for a given spectral efficiency , dramatic energy reduction can be achieved by this coordination scheme.
