Abstract
By designing subwavelength artificial structures, metamaterials provide a lot of possibilities to control the propagation of electromagnetic (EM) waves. In recent years, a special kind of metamaterials, metasurfaces, have been used to achieve extreme controlling of EM waves. Compared with bulk metamaterials, the advantages of meatasurfaces are their smaller physical sizes and lower losses. Hence there are many potential applications for metasurface in both microwave and optical frequencies. Here, we review some recent developments of metasurfaces in our group.
