Abstract
A patch antenna proposed for improving a heating uniformity in order to provide the optimal therapeutic effect in the hyperthermia system. To have uniform thermal distribution, the proposed patch antenna is composed of the multiple slits and the cross-shaped slots which are printed on the ground plane. The uniformity of heating effect is enhanced, as compared to the result of a conventional patch antenna. Proposed antenna induces the temperature distribution with exact round shape in the effective treatment area (ETA). The ETA is employed to demonstrate the thermal performance of the proposed antenna. Therefore, the heating uniformity is improved by 24% in the result.
