Abstract
We propose a hybrid antenna composed of spherical lens fed by an Antipodal Fermi tapered slot antenna (AFTSA). The AFTSA has customized multi-sin-shape corrugated patterns. The corrugation steps are used to enhance E and H- plane characteristics and reduce the return loss. The loaded methodology of the conventional semispherical is compared with new slotted full spherical lens. The model design achieved a gain of 20dB and 83% of total radiation efficiency at 60 GHz. Thus, the proposed antenna can be implemented in millimeter wave wireless communications and imaging detection systems.
