Abstract
An investigation is performed on a rectangular microstrip patch after slicing it to five strips along its E-plane. The investigation is intended to be implemented on wearable antennas. The antenna is excited by a coaxial probe. Two methods are considered in cutting the patch. One method is fixing the original patch dimensions and changing the gaps between the strips as well as the strips width. The second method is fixing the strips width and changing the gap between them. The performance of several sliced patches is compared with each other. Several antennas are constructed, tested, and found in good agreement with the simulated results.
