  • Abstract
Call admission control (CAC) is used to estimate the new call blocking probability and handover call dropping probability where average channel holding time is very important term to calculate these quality of service (QoS) parameters. In this research work, we have remodeled the guard channel scheme in different aspect and shown that there is some valuation faults in the conventional mathematical models of guard channel scheme. Then we have focused our prime concern to the different average channel holding time of handover calls and new calls as well as their effect in the estimation of QoS parameters. Thereafter we propose an idea to recalculate the average channel holding time in case of different values for handover calls and new calls. We have also revealed that there is no effect in handover call dropping probability estimation even the average channel holding time of new calls and handover calls are different. On the other hand, we have found that there is a major impact in new call blocking probability for different channel holding time for handover and new calls where our offered theory is able to reduce the effect.
