Abstract
ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast) is a key enabler for current and especially future ATM (Air Traffic Management) surveillance applications. The ADS-B communication link, 1090 MHz channel, suffers from congested environment, which may negatively impact the performance of corresponding surveillance applications. This paper presents several mitigation techniques, evaluated in SESAR Project 9.21 “ADS-B - 1090 Higher Performance Study”, that can be used to improve the surveillance performance even in the presence of interference.
