  • Abstract
An ordinary Air touch table promotes wellness in the workplace, schools or home, enabling users to change their working position from seated to standing. However, a table with an air-touch interactive system is yet an innovation in this technology. This paper presents a new approach to configure the multilayer air-touch system on the table with 3D display screen using a depth camera, the Creative Senz3D. With the multilayer functionality and the camera, the system is able to detect the touching action of the fingertip in mid-air. In addition, 3D visualization is created simultaneously to enhance the human interactivity for exploration and understanding. Firstly, multilayer surface calibration is created using B-spline interpolation and approximation. Then, with the created surfaces, the system is able to detect the fingertip easily in less than 20 centimeter height from the table using Open CV Blob analysis. Several demonstrations are included in this paper to prove the sensitivity and accuracy of our system.
