  • Abstract
A novel power inverter control method with Dead-time State Equivalent Voltage Vectors (DSEWs) is introduced in this paper. The DSEW is derived from natural commutation process while inserting dead-time switching state to inverter legs. Based on the law of natural commutation, an algorithm is designed to calculate all possible DSEWs value when the switching state shifts. A cost function is created to obtain the optical duration time of the DSEW and the rest time for the basic voltage vector in every control period. The control output of the selected vectors combination can improve tracking accuracy of inverter, as it selects two voltage vectors optimal synthesis to track the reference instead of one in traditional. Compared to the traditional control method with error compensation for the fixed dead-time, the variable dead-time plays on an important positive role to improve the tracking accuracy. Therefore, it can be defined as a generalized no dead-time inverter control method. The novel method is realized base on FCS-MPC (Finite Control Set-Model Predictive Control) with three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) in this paper, and the simulation results are proposed.
