Abstract
Due to ionospheric scintillation, Carrier to Noise ratio (CNO) of the transionospheric satellite links fluctuates. If the fluctuation is large enough, the receiver may lose lock of the satellite. Carrier to Noise ratio fluctuation for Global Positioning System (GPS) and Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) satellites has been calculated during October 2013 to April 2014 to show that there is a possibility of the application of spatial diversity technique in case of adverse ionospheric conditions.
