  • Abstract
This paper presents a low-power multi-electrode neural recording system using an activity-dependant architecture. Various low-voltage circuit design techniques are shown to enable the operation of the system at supply voltages of 0.35 V and 0.7 V. As a proof of concept, a 10-channel neural recording prototype is demonstrated in a 0.13 μm CMOS technology. The total power consumption of this prototype reduces from 17.6 μW in the continuous recording mode to 7.6 μW in the proposed activity-dependent recording mode.
