Abstract
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) can be engaged in various type of applications such as environmental, biomedical and military etc. One of the primary objectives of WSNs would be to perform data communication while attempting to increase the life of the wireless network and protecting it against connectivity collapse by using effective energy management approaches. Various challenging factors influence the design of routing protocols for WSNs. These factors needs to be addressed and overcome in order to accomplish effectual communication in WSNs. In this paper we have presented a survey regarding the Location based routing protocols. The paper includes the suitable application for each protocol moreover it includes the comparison of different location based protocols with respect to power consumption, scalability, path selection metric etc.
