Abstract
The term `intelligence´ in the user interfaces is illustrated by the phenomenon of "intelligent user interface" (IUI) that entails the aspects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Human computer interaction(HCI) to help users by improving human machine interactions. With the advancement in software technology there comes a need to induce intelligence in user interface for facilitating users. This paper analyzes the challenges and techniques for IUI, discusses the role of AI and HCI in IUI, and evaluation of IUI. In this paper we conduct a survey that aims to analyze the intelligence of user interface of three search engines i.e. Bing, Yahoo and Google by user´s satisfaction level. The results may help the developers to improve the intelligence of these user interfaces.
