  • Abstract
    As the adjustment effect of automatic generation control (AGC) is not ideal in the interconnected power grid, and the independent control area doesn´t have enough control resources, as well as the energy storage system has the characteristics of fast charging and discharging, this paper puts forward the AGC coordination control method including the energy storage system based on the area control error (ACE). This method would make the ACE in combination with energy storage system of charging and discharging very well, it enriches the AGC control strategies, makes up for the bad influence of the scarcity of regional control resource, and it has the advantages of artificially controlling cycle count and depth, and it is easy to modify the relevant parameters. By building algorithm case of two area interconnected power grid, simulation results under the environment of MATLAB/Simulink show that the energy storage system can improve the smooth degree of ACE, improve the quality of power grid frequency, and reduce the fluctuations of tie-line power.
