Abstract
To obtain the attenuation level in links at frequencies higher than 10 Ghz, rain is the most important factor to consider. In spite of the existence of statistical models to calculate the rain attenuation -such as ITU-R standards- sometimes it is necessary to have an approximation to real-time rain-attenuation in the link. In this paper a sensor network that monitors the rain rate of different regions in México has been developed; the collected data are used to obtain rain attenuation values. In this work, the design of the network as well as a Graphical User Interface (GUI) and a database to store the data collected is explained.
