Abstract
We proposed to place an RF circuit and an antenna on each side of a silicon RF chip in the 60 GHz band, respectively, and to connect between them with low loss by a coaxial-line structure using a hole opening in the chip. We fabricated a 2×2 circularly polarized patch array in an area of 5mm square on a silicon chip and had coaxial-line connection with a separated quadrature oscillator chip. However the oscillation was unstable due to the self-oscillation of the oscillator chip by providing only DC power. In this paper, we design an input structure of 20GHz-band signal to the phased-lock loop in the oscillator chip to make the oscillation stable.
