Abstract
This paper tries to shed light on whether emotional intelligence (EI) predicts leadership effectiveness (LE) in the Chinese context. To do this, we apply Bar-On´s EI dimensions and LE dimensions in Leadership Effectiveness Analysis as the instrument in this study. The finding, contrast to the hypothesis, is that EI can not predict LE in the Chinese context. As one of the pioneer research in such domain, this study has important literature contribution in cross-cultural leadership effectiveness, and helps companies in talent assessment.
