  • Abstract
The advancing and progressive increase in the graph of Information Technology (IT) as an essential part of organizations has had a wide growth in the last few decades. The role of IT has been of vital importance in the development of nations which today are being referred as Developed Countries. Given that, it is necessary to assess and analyze the implementation, adaptation and promotion of IT to understand how the Public Management (PM) contributes or not to reduce the gap between the developing and developed countries. The research on this gap regarding IT management is limited; hence, this paper aims to review and interpret available information from both the perspectives as a case study. The authors of the paper have made an attempt to assess gathered data related to IT implementations with viable policies under Public Management segment in both developed and developing countries; giving a clear comparative case study: Colombia and USA. As the paper progresses further, the Public management of IT is discussed in detail highlighting the sustainable growth of IT development under the studied countries. This approach, is used to give a series of proposed action paths for implementation of IT policies in Colombia: the underdeveloped country.
