Abstract
This paper concerns the calculation and analysis of a free-flooded ring transducers using the axisymmetric finite element model and the finite element method (FEM). The theoretical basis of FEM and important parameters of free-flooded ring transducer are introduced. Following a brief description of FEM, the axisymmetric finite element model of free-flooded ring transducer relating to meshing is established. A new free-flooded ring transducer is designed, and then analyzed using the axisymmetric finite element model. The admittance curve and the transmitting voltage response versus frequency are obtained, which are in complete accordance with measured results. It proved to be a good guideline to the further design and analysis of ring transducers.
