Abstract
The voltage transfer ratio of the Buck-Boost matrix converter can be achieved optionally. For the conventional sinusoidal modulation of the Buck-Boost matrix converter, the voltage stress on the output capacitance and switching devices is very high. This paper describes the third harmonic injection modulation and modified discontinuous modulation scheme. The two proposed modulation not only reduce the voltage stress on the capacitors and switching devices but also improve the THD of the output voltage. Moreover, the modified discontinuous modulation reduces the average switching frequency and system losses. The correctness and availability of theoretical analysis is verified with MATLAB simulation.
