Abstract
The axial buckling and the transverse vibration of nanowires were studied theoretically. It is found that the symmetry breaking and resulting in additional elastic parameters are of vital importance on overall elasticity of nanowires. The negative surfaces stress would destabilize the nanowire system at certain dimension and that would lead to spontaneous structuring of nanowires at very small surface stress imbalance.
