Abstract
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag and sensor combination has become increasingly popular in green projects. Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) is commonly used to enhance the performance of an antenna. In this paper, a new dipole AMC is proposed for 0.92 GHz Radio Frequency Identification tag application. The new square AMC structure optimized with multiple slots produced a bandwidth of 2.31 % using FR4 substrate. The combination of dipole antenna with AMC 2×1 array has further enhanced the performance of the antenna with return loss = -23.01 dB, directivity = 6.01 dBi and gain = 4.53 dB.
