QoS evaluation of mobile HSPA+ technology and its migration to LTE

In Ecuador, the implementation of LTE technology is still developing by Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones Empresa Pública. In the first phase of implementation they took into account the cities of Quito, Guayaquil and Ambato. This research was conducted in the city of Ambato on three mobile base stations (BTS) located in areas with high concentration of users; for data collection were used two Smartphone and TEMS MOBILE INSIGHT mobile application who helped in the analysis of the transmission speed, time of access and coverage. For data collection was considered through this process at different times of day, considering the hours of low and high demand for data traffic during two weeks. With this study, a plan for migration to LTE and its respective implementation in the city of Riobamba will be determined.
