Abstract
This paper looks at the regulatory structures used in the United Kingdom, Australia and Argentina since the reforms of the electricity industries in those countries were implemented, and comments on the overall performance of the regulation. The paper also comments on the regulatory processes from the perspective of the distribution utilities. Finally the paper considers the changes to the form of the regulation that may be required in the future to ensure that the benefits of the reforms are maintained.
