Abstract
A novel design of lossy bandpass filter based on planar hybrid configuration is proposed in this paper. Nonuniform Q distribution is realized by Substrate Integrated Waveguide mixed with microstrip resonator. Impact of Q distribution on the passband and individual response of the two transmission paths is presented. The fabricated filter has a frequency of 1.984 GHz with a 1-dB bandwidth of 25 MHz (1.26% fractional bandwidth). Finally, the proposed filter is designed, fabricated and measured for experimental verification of the predicted results. The simulated and measured results show good agreement.
