Abstract
A study has been made to determine the degree of cross polarization that is likely to be produced by an A-sandwich aircraft radome. The effect of various parameters of the A-sandwich radome on the cross polarization isolation is studied. A variable thickness radome (VTR) is proposed in this paper as a feasible concept to decrease the cross polarization. The VTR design is established to be superior to the conventional constant thickness radome (CTR) designs in terms of the XPI performance.
