Abstract
Daily activities in a person´s life are being automated in order to save time and effort. This paper aims at making the waiter system in restaurants automatic. The person sitting at a restaurant table can order the food whenever he wants, making it easy for both the customer and the hotel management. This paper illustrates a device which helps the customers place their orders, which is then transmitted to the kitchen with the help of Bluetooth and I2C protocol. The paper talks about using smartphones for speech processing and hence it is not speaker dependent. With the help of the smartphone, the order of the customer in the form of speech is converted to text. This is then sent to the device present on the table which uses a Bluetooth module to communicate with the smartphone. Once the text is received, it is then transmitted to the master node present in the kitchen using the I2C protocol. The paper also talks about placing orders sitting at home, without having to give any additional information like the address or the phone number. The paper aims at simplifying the way of placing orders in order to save the customers´ time and effort.
