  • Abstract
A receiver front-end based on an active self-interference canceler is presented. The active canceler combines programmable gain and phase in a single stage and was co-designed with a highly-linear LNA, achieving low noise and low power. A cross-modulation mechanism of Self Interference (SI) canceler was identified and strongly suppressed thanks to internal resistive feedback, enabling high effective IIP3 with respect to TX leakage. TX leakage of up to -4dBm of power is suppressed by over 30dB at the input of the LNA, with benefits for the entire receiver in terms of IIP3, IIP2 and reciprocal mixing. The LNA+canceler, designed in a 40nm CMOS technology, consumes <;25mW has a NF of 2.2-3.1dB and an IIP3 of 38dBm with -8dBm TX leakage.
