Abstract
The paper presents on the zero current switching (ZCS) buck converter to attain improved performance using two additional passive components. The ZCS-PWM operation of not only improves the performance of the converter for the low power consumption LED lighting and battery charging as cost effective solution, green power management and energy saving resources but also invites compactness, robust reliability, tight regulations and high power density for the wider range of load and input voltage variations. The ZCS soft switching techniques eliminate commonly switching loss along with negligible parasitic effects of the semiconductors in terms of the resonance modeling of the power converter strengthening the robust stability for the high switching frequency operation and optimal design aspects.
