Effect of intermediate anneal on magnet wire properties of copper wire

In the early period of copper wire drawing, an intermediate annual was routinely performed to relieve stresses in the hard drawn wire. The annealing of copper “breakdown” wire helped make the subsequent drawing operation easier and with a minimum of wire breaks.
