System Theory to support Enterprise Interoperability Science Base

The objective of this paper is to demonstrate why the concepts of Systems of Systems developed in the frame of the System Theory are able to support the development of Enterprise Interoperability Science Base. After an introduction in which we recall the definition of Enterprise Interoperability and the development in Europe of this domain, the authors introduce the requirements that will support the determination of the necessary concepts to develop a Science Base theory for Enterprise Interoperability. The second part will describe the concepts of System of System which meet the requirements defined previously. The last part will illustrate on a concrete example how to use these concepts to solve some problems in Enterprise Interoperability.
