Abstract
An MMSE receiver for asynchronous DS/CDMA systems in multipath fading channels, using a single adaptive filter, is analyzed. This filter, which simultaneously combines multipath responses and suppresses multiple access interference (MAI), has an order equal to the sum of the processing gain of the CDMA system and the channel memory. The analytical results show that this approach provides significant advantages over a conventional RAKE receiver.
