Abstract
Chinese culture is a composite of these diverse Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH). Large number of Chinese ICH needs to be protected. The ICH have its own personalized feature, resulted in the different survival state. When draw a ICH protection strategy, we must take into account not only the differences but also the feasibility of protection strategy. Therefore, this study uses Fuzzy set theory to rate these different ICH. Facing to different hierarchy ICH, differentiated protection strategy should be adopted. Owing to vague concepts frequently represented in ICH data, the information of the status of ICH is described based on Fuzzy set theory. Then the evaluated alternatives are arranged in a hierarchical structure with several levels, and the weighting function of each level criterion is quantified based on AHP method. Fuzzy Synthetic Evaluations is used to determine the rank of all ICH alternatives. Finally, the development of some ICH were taken as examples in this study.
