  • Abstract
    On the basis of summary on the material development and mechanical properties of RPC, the self vibration frequency change due to changes caused by the material of slender simply supported beam was studied in accordance with the theory of bending vibration equation of Euler - Bernoulli beam and Timoshenko beam. The results show that the weight reduction due to insteading traditional concrete by RPC materials and a large elastic modulus feature of RPC itself made the frequency bands all improved compared with the concrete beams with the same cross section. The effect of inertia and shear deformation on the natural frequency is considered in Timoshenko beam, so the model should be first adopted in the calculation of deep beams.
