Abstract
This paper describes analysis and implementation of TTL relaxation within routing networks. Relaxing the TTL field at the edge of the routing network causes the traffic to be dropped soon after being caught in the loop, hence minimizing the bandwidth consumption during the loop and the end-to-end delay which might be introduced to the real-time traffic passing through the loop as a result of the router´s resources being exhausted.
