Abstract
In wireless communication systems, OFDM is an efficient and promising modulation technique for wireless transmission of data like audios and videos through radio waves. The growing demand for high speed and high quality of data made MIMO-OFDM, a reliable technology which combines both space time coding and OFDM. Though it has many advantages it has high peak to average ratio (PAPR) which is a drawback. Partial transmit sequence (PTS) is one of the most widely used technique that gives a better performance in PAPR reduction. To perform PTS the data has to be partitioned into different sub-blocks using a partitioning technique. There are three different partitioning techniques. They are 1. Adjacent partitioning (AP) 2. Interleaved partitioning (IP) 3. Pseudorandom partitioning (PRP). This paper presents the analysis of adjacent partitioning technique of PTS for PAPR reduction. And the simulation results also show that the performance of this technique increases further by applying pulse shaping. The performance of this technique is also analyzed by changing the partition size, the sub-block length, number of subcarriers, fixed and variable length, with and without overlapping of data, for different modulation techniques and for different modulation orders.
