Abstract
This paper presents automatic generation control of single area thermal power system with different load parameters in the presence of integral (I) and PSO-PID controllers. If one of the load parameters varies, it may leads to changes in real power. Changes in real power effects the frequency of power system. Heavier deviations in the system frequency may leads to system instability. So we need to present a suitable controller to reduce frequency deviations. PSO tuned PID controller is proposed in this study to reduce such oscillations. Simulation results have taken in MATLAB/SIMULINK software.
