  • Abstract
Bangladesh is a developing country. Electricity shortage is the major obstacles for a developing nation. Currently, about 68% of the total population has access to electricity including public & private sectors. Electricity demand is increasing day by day. To overcome this situation, government has taken necessary steps. For instance, establishing various power plants which are nonrenewable; such as oil, gas, coal, and many more. In addition, government has taken steps to establish a nuclear power plant in Ruppur and thermal coal based plant in Rumpal & Moheshkhali. On the other hand, due to geographical position, nuclear power plant is not suitable for Bangladesh. Because of geographical position, nuclear power needs a huge technological safety. Bangladesh is far behind this safety. Therefore, renewable energy is very efficient for overcoming this power crisis. We proposed grid connected hybrid system by utilizing two different energy sources to mitigate the rising demand of electricity, especially in rural or remote areas of Bangladesh which can be used for domestic as well as commercial applications. In Bangladesh, about 72% of the populations live in the rural area and renewable energy is the right choice for providing clean energy.
