Abstract
Software companies have to struggle to survive in the competitive hi-tech industry, especially in the mobile IM sector. This study is aimed at identifying the important factors influencing users to adopt mobile IM apps, using the 4Ps and the IS success theories. Six factors, emerged after employing factor analysis, are system quality, advertising, social features, system security, download options, and chat features. Two of them are a predictor of the perceived quality after usage of LINE or WhatsApp.
