Abstract
A miniaturized design of planar inverted F-antenna (PIFA) using magnetic resonator metamaterial loading is presented. A pair of Capacitively-loaded loop (CLL) resonators have been used as artificial magnetic resonator to partially load the volume under patch of PIFA for miniaturization. The loading mechanism approximately reduces resonant frequency of PIFA by 40%. Moreover, despite considerable amount of miniaturization the loaded PIFA needs no additional matching network which makes the miniaturized antenna more compact.
