  • Abstract
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) technology are flexible networking and high mobility. By applying WSNs to on-line monitoring, many problems existing in conventional wired monitoring are solved, e.g., Wiring difficulties, large reroute engineering and immobility. WSNs play an important role in extending monitoring scope, improving the fault diagnosis quality and reducing monitoring the cost. In the paper, an on-line monitoring system based on vibration signals is developed to meet the needs of fault diagnosis in petrochemical plants work sites, especially for the rotating machinery. The feasibility of the system is verified by an experiment in the simulation model of petrochemical units. Experimental results show that the units running state can be monitored and identified by analyzing the vibration signals.
