Abstract
The break of the eastern markets after 1990 caused a radical decrease of the production of large privatized Czech companies. The similar situation happened with SKODA Plzen industrial company and its transportation division. The companies tried to improve their production line but for penetration into markets, they had very slow internal processes, insufficient long-term innovation planning and low effectiveness of activities. This paper analyzes the business unit and suggests a process of how to eliminate these problems.
