Eleventh Joint MMM — Intermag Conference 2010 Conference Chair´s Foreword

This volume contains selected papers from the 11th Joint MMM/Intermag Conference, which was held January 18-22, 2010 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, very close to the heart of Washington, DC. The Joint meeting is held every three years and is a merger of the annual Magnetism and Magnetic Materials Conference and the annual Intermag Conference. This Conference is sponsored jointly by the American Institute of Physics (AIP/PCI) and the Magnetics Society of the IEEE. This meeting, which was focused on recent developments in fundamental and applied magnetism, was a very successful meeting with over 2,300 digests submitted, of which some 1,715 were accepted for presentation. As a consequence, the conference was also very well attended with 1,719 registered attendees, making it one of the largest MMM-Intermag Conferences on record and the largest of the series ever organized in the United States.
