Abstract
This paper presents a study of design and construction of an air cleaner by using high voltage electrostatics with a 126 m3/hr re-circulated air capacity for a 15 m2 room. By applying the working of a switching circuit that controls the voltage of flyback transformer code TLF 14649F, this system can be energized with a potential up to 8.0 kV and 4.0 kV for ionization section and dust collecting. It has been designed to remove dust or small particles with diameter in the range 0.01 micrometers up to 200 micrometers. Simulation test results have been performed by drawing dust, joss stick smoke and tobacco smoke through and have proven that the air cleaner can trap these dusts and smoke.
