Abstract
Experimental data on the axial motion of particles in blood suspension flows were obtained as statistical histories and considered within mathematical methods developed for relativistic mechanics. The power of the methods to represent paths (curves) through parameterization in multiple ways was exploited to link the changing energy along the flow and the obvious measure, the net axial displacement of the tracer particles. The common initial condition of members of the ensembles was rationalized in physical terms as a base from which changes of energy and momentum were determined. These quantities were related to the residence time of the tracers in chosen axial regions that were measured in energy change and displacement.
