Abstract
The use of a multi-beam aerial in a collision avoidance system and short-range radio navigation system extends significantly the range of problems solved with the aid of an automatic control system and improves traffic safety. The aerial is a system assembly whose minimization and optimization are difficult. The herein-presented bifocal array-lens aerial lends itself readily to optimization and meets all requirements imposed. In this paper, we formulate and solve a number of problems on optimization of the given aerial.
