Abstract
This paper proposes a full model of short TCP latency by considering the loss property of a transformation channel and the slow start period after timeout. First we describe the latency of the TCP initial slow start period without packet losses and then we deduce the full model of short TCP latency. Based on the validation of real experiments on the Internet, this model is shown to be suitable for a large range of loss probability and can accurately simulate the practical TCP data flow transmission.
