Abstract
Network traffic prediction is important for network control and bandwidth allocation. In this paper, we propose a method to design an energy function of threshold using variance analysis for high-speed network traffic, which provides basis for threshold selection. Finally, we examine the validity of the selected threshold using crossing intensity function.
